The Original Mile
The Original Mile located in Midwest City Oklahoma, has a lot of history, It is the original square mile of the City, developed in the 1940’s to house personnel for what is now Tinker Air Force Base. Once known as Americas model city, the square mile was designed to be an urban central city place. A walk-able community complete with housing, shopping, churches, schools, and parks. J Lou has been involved in the revitalization of this square mile for many years and in recent won an RFP to build 7 new homes in the community. The first new construction in the area in over 20 years. The homes will be sold to new home owners. The homes are designed for the modern family with modern design to bring enthusiasm and quality of life to the community. The Original Mile has the potential to be a wonderful place to live. Due to its proximity to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Suburban Cities are learning how to have an urban area in their cities. Understanding Urban development and density for suburban communities is still a challenge. J Lou is proud of the progress it made in that community.
